Delete Your Account
App: Faiyr · Developer: Birch Digital Inc. This page explains how to permanently delete your Faiyr account and what happens to your data afterward, as required by the Apple App Store and Google Play.
How to delete your account
Account deletion must be done from inside the Faiyr app itself — this is a requirement of both the App Store and Google Play, and it's also how we can verify the request actually comes from you. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Open the Faiyr app and sign in.
- Tap the Account Settings tab (the gear icon) in the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation sheet, then type DELETE in the text field to confirm.
- Tap the red Delete button. Faiyr processes the deletion — this can take a moment while it walks through every group you belong to — then signs you out automatically once complete.
If you are the sole owner of a group, ownership automatically transfers to another active member so the group and its shared history aren't lost.
What is deleted vs. what is retained
This mirrors the retention terms in our Privacy Policy (section 5, "Data retention").
Deleted immediately or within 90 days: your profile, private account data, and authentication credentials are permanently removed within 90 days of deletion. Your profile photo and any data-export files you previously generated are deleted. Push notification tokens and session data are deleted immediately.
Retained (anonymized): expense and balance records that involve other group members may be retained in anonymized form (attributed to a deleted-user identifier) to preserve the accounting integrity of groups you participated in. Comments you posted on shared transactions are retained for the same reason, but your display name on them is replaced with “Deleted user”.
Retained for legal reasons: we retain records required for tax, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes for up to 7 years, as required by Canadian law.

If you've lost access to your device, been locked out of your account, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app steps above, contact us and we'll verify your identity and process the deletion on your behalf:
